Throughout my work as a tutor in a university, I have gained a whole new perspective to studying at university that I would like to share with you. It’s not often you can get advice straight from university tutors, though Phil Stubbs, Academic Jungle and Female Science Professor are helping to lift the veil. Here I share my top 10 things your university tutor won’t tell you.
A couple of notes: this is based on my experience and those of my colleagues at an Australian university. I would be interested to learn of your different experiences, so please leave a comment to let me know.
Now, here are my top 10 things that your university tutor won’t tell you:
I recently heard this quote;
Hindsight wisdom is of no use – Indian Proverb
Well sorry to the wise old man who probably first said this, but I must say I disagree. Hindsight wisdom might not be able to change anything from that time for me, but it certainly has shaped the subsequent decisions I have made. As they say, live and learn. However, I am also hoping that MY hindsight wisdom can be of use to YOU. Having finished my Bachelor studies a few years ago, I am now a tutor (research assistant/teacher/professor; whatever the equivalent position title) for first year students in business, and I am constantly trying to impart my hindsight wisdom. If I can save at least one person from making the same mistakes as me, then my mission will be accomplished.
This series of posts about my Bachelor studies reflects my experiences as a Bachelor of Business student at an Australian university. If you follow this blog, my latest posts will be sent directly to you. If you have any other hindsight wisdom to impart, please let us know in the comments, so that we can all benefit.
